Who Can Participate?

Youth Groups
Church youth groups (from two people to 200) can be part of PowerPlant by coming to a project and working together as a team to assist a church planter in his or her efforts to reach their community for Christ. For the most part, groups are kept together to work as a team with the same church planter. Group leaders who want their students to work with students from other church groups, or serve on split ministry teams, can request that of the project coordinator. Ministry team assignments depend on several factors including the needs of church planters in a project city and the gifts, talents, abilities, and resources of the youth group.

College Students
College students are more than welcome to participate in any PowerPlant project. Come with a church group, as a campus ministry, or just a few friends wanting to do missions together!  PowerPlant 2.0 is specificically designated as college and senior high only projects.

Ages
The youngest student who can participate in PowerPlant must have completed the sixth grade prior to the summer of the project. Beyond that, all middle school, high school and college students along with their adult leaders are eligible to participate.

PowerPlant 2.0 projects are specifically designed for college and senior high only.  Students must have completed the ninth grade prior to the summer to be eligible to participate.

Southern Baptist Convention
PowerPlant of the North American Mission Board is at its heart a Southern Baptist Convention ministry. The church plants and ministries we partner with are all affiliated with the SBC or Canadian Convention of Southern Baptists (CCSB). SBC churches and churches of like-minded denominations are more than welcome to participate in PowerPlant.
