Timeline

Register

When you decide which PowerPlant project you want to go to, register your group.  Some projects will fill up faster than others. No money is due until February 1 preceding the project date, when a $50/person deposit is due to the PowerPlant office at the North American Mission Board. You will receive confirmation from our office that your group is registered for a project.  After you register, you will hear from the project coordinator for your project, who will inform you of project-specific details.

Sign Up Students

Even though your initial deposit is not due until February 1, do not wait until then to start promoting PowerPlant among your students! Your registration packet will include ideas on how to get students to commit to your mission trip and how to enlist adult leaders. We will also provide video resources for you to use during large group sessions with your students to get them interested.  We encourage you to set a January deadline for your students to pay at least $50 towards their portion of the trip. This will help you see who is committed to the trip, and help you finalize how many deposits to send to NAMB by February 1.

Pay Deposits

A $50/person is due by February 1.

Project Preparation

There are two main parts of project preparation for which group leaders are responsible. The first part is transportation logistics. You are responsible for getting your group to and from the project city, and each group is responsible for transportation during the project.

The second part of project preparation will center around your ministry assignments. When we receive your deposits at NAMB, we will send you a project preparation kit that will include a group leader guide and enough student handbooks, evangelism tracts, and participant forms for your group. Included in the group leader guide will be a project timeline that will list important tasks and dates for you to complete.

Ministry Team Assignments

You will receive specific ministry team assignments from your project coordinator at least six weeks before the start of your project. This will give you time to communicate with the church planter you have been teamed up with to ensure proper preparation for your group.
